Serendipity
works with all types of hair, from curly to straight and
everything in-between. Ethnicity is not an issue, so if
you’re
wondering “Do they cut my kind of
hair?” the answer is YES.
No matter how difficult you think your hair is to work with,
we will show you how to bring out its natural beauty. Here
are a few concerns we’ve seen over the years that can
be overcome with a good cut and a little advice. (We thought
you’d like to know you’re not alone.)
Curly
”I
just can’t get a good haircut for my curly hair”
Or “It doesn’t look good curly. I always end
up blow drying it straight, and it’s such a pain”
At Serendipity, the answer for your personal style is not
immediately “straighten it”. Instead we are going
to ask, “You have beautiful curls. Why don’t you
wear them?”
Cutting curly hair is all about the silhouette. We look at
the direction of each curl, and cut it accordingly so it creates
a beautiful shape. We can show you how to embrace the natural
beauty of your curls to create a look that is truly “you”.
“I
just can’t get a good color, and there’s no shine
in my hair.”
Curls don’t reflect light as much as straight hair,
so they tend to look a little duller. There are a few rules
of thumb that will help get the most out of color on curls,
and that includes never highlighting with bleach. It strips
away all the color and all of the shine. Instead, we highlight
with our color products. We also recommend staying in your
natural color range and enhancing the tone to something
rich and vibrant.
“It’s
always looks so dry and frizzy”
Curly hair always needs more moisture - always, always, always!
Because it is dry, it probably tends to get the frizzies,
especially when there is high humidity in the air. We have
several products that work wonderfully for all kinds of curly
hair needs.
Straight
”My hair is flat”
We find many clients with straight hair are struggling with
volume, and we will show you how to get it. You’ll leave
the salon knowing at least three ways to style your hair (and
they won’t take an entire morning or a whole can of
hairspray to do.)
“It’s
so boring because it’s so straight.”
Cutting straight hair is all about the movement. At serendipity,
your solution will not include the hard frozen look that comes
from too much product. Our styles are lively and sexy.
Thin and Fine
”My hair is baby fine and thin, and no one knows
how to cut it.”
We find that fine hair looks best with cuts that have texture
because it adds volume. Blunt cuts emphasize its tendency
to lay flat.
“My
hair is sad and limp no matter what I do.”
We recommend using little to no product on fine hair because
of the weight it adds. Our moisture rich shampoos and conditioners
will probably be all you need.
"It
breaks a lot and I can't grow it long"
Serendipity has a gentle touch. We’ll show you how to
care for your hair to keep it healthy and beautiful. We’ll
discuss styles that are easy on the hair, such as limited
to no blow drying, and the best products to keep your hair
moisturized and strong.
